Truly amazing and highly recommendable tour that takes you through the country side to see glimpses of the real Bali and its wonderful people. Our small group (6 pax) cycled through small villages along paddy fields, stopped at a water temple, watched the locals bring in the rice harvest, visited a school and met some of the friendly locals! A great experience for all of us especially our two 6 year olds who got to view a performance of a Balinese girls practice a traditional dance. Another highlight was a picnic at the end of the tour set in the beautiful, tranquil and luscious gardens of the royal compound with delicious local food. We did this tour with two 6-year olds in tow. Bali Eco tours provided tandem bikes with a local guide riding in front. All the equipment was in great shape and we had a back-up team with a van plus a motorbike following us to make sure we were safe. Water is provided as is a very much appreciated coconut pit stop at about half time. All the guides were extremely knowledge and super friendly making this a true highlight of our trip to Bali. Thanks so much to Bali Eco Tours!!

We have been with Bali Eco Cycling tours before in Ubud and had such a great experience that we wanted to use them again this time in Seminyak. We emailed last minute and they were able to organize a private tour for us for the very next day at short notice. Our guide, Made Rata, was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Balinese culture and was able to tell us a lot of cool stuff. Our favourite thing about this tour company is that they go off the beaten track and through more rural and local villages and areas, and that the cycle is not on main roads as we don’t like the idea of driving through the crazy traffic. We did the Kaba Kaba to Tanah Lot Sunset Tour. The bike cycle from is mostly flat and pretty easy, but bring sunscreen! Will definitely come back and use these guys again next time we’re in Bali. A leisurely, very enjoyable and easy bike ride through lovely, peaceful, quaint villages, with no other tourists in sight! We'd highly recommend this and it was the highlight of our time in Bali! 🙂 The newly set up half day tour (8am-noon) started off with a traditional Balinese breakfast: mini pan dan pancakes served with a warm sugar syrup and coconut shavings and some red glutinous rice with beans 🙂 Bikes were picked out and adjusted and our 1yr old baby was fitted securely into the seat and legs were also strapped in. She's a wriggler so the leg straps had to be redone but the guide was watchful of this. Baby kept on taking her hat off and throwing it onto the road, so there were a few hat pick up stops as well! There were 2 guides: one leading and signalling when to turn and stop and the other was behind us on a moped making sure it was safe to turn corners and telling us of passing vehicles. The guides were friendly, helpful, understanding and patient with the baby and we were well looked after. They were happy to take photos on our camera and also their own phone and these were later sent to us. There were only a couple of slightly uphill sections of concrete road where the gears came in handy and there were regular stops under shade to catch your breath and keep hydrated, including a fresh coconut that was cracked open halfway through. Mainly quiet roads throughout, we meandered through back alleys and passed flat bed rice fields. There was also a stop at the old King's Palace: it's well kept, peaceful and though a lot of what's there has been redone, one statue has survived the times and the area is now also home to local residents. Practical stuff: -Bring a thin, long sleeved top to change into/a small shoulder bag that won't get in the way when cycling to carry sunscreen in and reapply often, otherwise you'll get very tanned/burnt very quickly if you don't! Sunglasses and hat a must -Water is provided in a flask on the bikes -We lived an hour away in Sanur and pick up and drop off wasn't included in the cost. We hired a taxi, but it was sooo worth it to go a bit further out for this bike road -Local hole in the ground toilet, which didn't bother us 🙂 -Cost quoted by company is slightly higher. It's cheaper if you book direct on Tripadvisor (we were given the Tripadvisor price on booking though). -Can include a traditional lunch for extra -Some of the money from the tour goes towards a charity foundation for the local kids! 🙂 Thank you, Bali Eco Cyclying, for a memorable, awesome experience 🙂 We did this tour with two 6-year olds in tow.
